This shore excursion takes guests to explore the highlights of Cape Breton Island. After leaving the port of Sydney, we travel to the historic Fortress of Louisbourg, one of the largest reconstructed 18th-century French fortresses in North America. Guests enjoy free time to walk the grounds, admire historic buildings, meet costumed interpreters, and learn about the daily life of French soldiers and civilians. We then continue to Baddeck to visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, where guests can explore exhibits about Bell’s inventions, including the telephone, aviation, and hydrofoil technology. This tour combines history, culture, and scenic beauty.

During your stop in Louisbourg, you will have about one to two hours of free time to explore. You can walk around the historic Fortress of Louisbourg, admire the old buildings, and learn how French soldiers and civilians lived in the 18th century. During your stop at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck, guests will have free time to explore the museum at their own pace. You can learn about the life and inventions of Alexander Graham Bell, including early telephones, aviation experiments, and hydrofoil boats. Meeting and pickup information
- Our vehicles will be parked at the port and our drivers and tour guides will hold a sign of Bannockburn Tours waiting for our clients. The tour wont be started until we collect all of the confirmed passengers or 30 mins after the actual docking time. So we would be appreciated if you can get off the ship as soon as you can so that you wont miss the tour. And we will make sure that our vehicles will be back on time (around 1 hour ahead of the sailing time) so that our clients have no problem to catch up the ship.
